iPhone or iPod Touch email setup

Introduction

This tutorial will show you how to manually configure your iPhone or iPod touch with your email account(s) using the preferred IMAP protocol.

Requirements

Before you start, you'll need the following:

• Your "mail server domain " which will be something like "mail.yourdomain.com".
• Your email address: user@yourdomain.com
• Your email password.
• Choose IMAP or POP.  Choose IMAP if you want to check the account on multiple computers or mobile devices. POP downloads the messages locally to your computer/device.  For example, if you use IMAP emails checked by iPhone will still be available to be seen on other devices such as your home computer.  If POP is uses emails are downloaded and taken off the server and will not be available to other email devices.
